Laughter may be the best medicine, but for fans of Impractical Jokers, Joe Gatto’s sudden departure has left an aching pain. After the shock announcement in 2021 that Gatto would be leaving the franchise he helped build amid personal issues, the Tenderloins have soldiered on for a 10th season without their fourth Joker.

I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers.” That’s what Gatto told his fans on social media on December 31st, 2021. While Sal, Q, and Murr have admirably pumped up the goofs in Gatto’s absence, the chemistry feels imbalanced, leaving fans pining for the good old days.

Internet chatter, Reddit threads, and even betting odds point to the possibility of Joe’s triumphant comeback for future seasons. As the Impractical empire weighs its options, fans hold out hope that the missing ingredient to reclaim former glory is the return of Joe Gatto.

Will Gatto Return in Season 11?

Unfortunately, the future of Impractical Jokers remains uncertain, as there’s been no formal announcement regarding the show’s 11th season. As for why a show as popular as Impractical Jokers might soon be over, well, that’s all because of Season 10 Part 1’s disappointing ratings.

Though fans saw season 10 as an improvement over the final episodes of Season 9 part 1, the magic just wasn’t there without Gatto. The other Jokers balanced things out with multiple celebrity guests in Season 10, each of them adding a unique flair to every episode.

However, Season 10 isn’t over with TruTV announcing more episodes released on February 8th.

Still, as Q explains in the Tell ‘Em Steve-Dave podcast, the show’s future depends on the ratings. “We don’t have a Season 11 yet; the show might be over,” Quinn mentioned.

Still, there are some more pressing matters why Joe Gatto will likely never return to the show in full capacity. It all has to do with the reason why he left the Jokers: his family.

Joe and His Wife Are Back Together

Gatto left the show to spend more time with his family. At first, it seemed as if his marriage with Bessy Gatto had come to an end. However, the veteran Joker surprised his fans back in September of this year, when he revealed he and his wife are happily back together.

For many fans, the news comes as a beacon of hope for Impractical Jokers. Since Joe left to win back his wife, seeing them reunited can only mean Joe’s back on the show, right? Well, it’s not that simple. Other fans see him reuniting with Bessy as a sign that he’ll most likely stay away from the Jokers from now on.

it’s really obvious that he saved his marriage via leaving the show,” comments user DA_87 on the Jokers’ subreddit. The same sentiment was echoed by other users, who see their reunion as just the first step on the road to mending their lives together.

As entertaining as the show seems to viewers, the process of filming every season can be an intense ordeal. Out of all four Jokers, Joe is the only one with kids. With this in mind, it seems unlikely Joe Gatto would return for another season of Impractical Jokers – at least, in full capacity.

If Season 11 comes out at some point, it might follow the same formula as Season 10. During the last season, the Jokers had special guests in every episode. Considering Joe is a landmark of the Impractical Jokers brand, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to see him back as a guest in Season 11. Just as soon as he finds Larry.
